I have self-diagnosed Seasonal Affective Disorder. Winter leads me to grumpy, hermit-like behavior brought on by severe Vitamin D deprivation. It's not that I don't like snow, or even the cold (okay, yes it is) but mostly, I just can't stand being apart from one of my greatest loves...THE SUN!
This 70-80 degree weather we've been having lately may have me wondering if the Mayans were onto something and the world really is coming to an end, but you know what? As long as we all go out with some brilliantly, beautiful sunlight, I'm going to call it a win.
With impending school deadlines, a wedding and job-searching, the past few weeks have had me in a funk! Today, on the other hand, I look like this:
A nice cold, beer on our back porch! |
And I'm even getting some Food Writing homework done to boot! |
Happy Thursday everyone! Time to soak up the sun!
apparently i have weather depression as well. because i have been forced to take vitamin d pills on occasion of grumpiness.

I decided that I was prone to this too when I spend one really rainy week in San Francisco. It pretty much made me realize that I would get hit pretty hard with it if I ever live somewhere that's not mostly sunny. But I've had precancerous skin conditions, so I guess it's damned if you do, damned if you don't.
ReplyDeleteI have (self diagnosed) SAD too! And it sucks! Because it always takes me a few weary winter months before I remember WHY I'm so miserable. Thank goodness for early spring this year, right?
ReplyDeleteWhy don't you guys like the snow? I love it, maybe because I grew up in minnesota or maybe because it is AWESOME! But I guess the sun is nice to, but embrace snow! Well embrace it next year.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I'm here from iblog4.me sunday sweetness :)
P.P.S. or is it P.S.S. or P.S. P.S.
